Founded by two brothers who began homebrewing in 1979, the Widmer Brothers quit their corporate jobs in 1984 and opened a brewery in Portland, Oregon. Inspired by their German connections they began brewing traditional German beers that were sold in one Portland pub. Two years later they became the first American brewery to introduce seasonal releases and have grown ever since. The Widmer Brothers are still in Portland brewing and are not slowing down.
